New Grammy For Best Electronic Music Album
Some say it's been a long time coming, particularly BPM Magazine who were delighted to celebrate the new category 'Best Electronic Music Album' added to the prestigious Grammy awards. So delighted in fact, that they threw a party at the Avalon nightclub in LA.
Roland, obviously just itching for an excuse to party - we've met some of them and believe me, they can, arranged for a bunch of gear to be made available to the star-studded guest-list.
"Electronic music is finally garnering the respect and recognition it deserves, and we're excited to be a part of that," says Roland Director Product Management and Marketing Doug Hanson. "Roland has played a significant role in the evolution of electronic music during the last 20 years and has advanced the industry with innovative and intuitive technology. It is an exciting time for this genre and we look forward to working with BPM in the future to co-develop events that will generate additional public awareness of this music style."
VIP attendees included some of the most important faces in electronic music including BT, Paul Oakenfold, The Crystal Method, and Junkie XL.
During the evening aspiring DJs, remixers, and top-of-line producers descended upon the Roland display area to check out Roland's new MV-8000 Production Studio, SP-606 Sampling Workstation and the popular MC-909 Sampling Groovebox. - full article
